About John DeBlasio Chicago

Based in Chicago, John DeBlasio serves as director of the Office of International Trade and Investment within the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. He was appointed to the Chicago position by Governor Bruce Rauner and tasked with oversight of 10 offices around the world. His current project involves coordinating trade missions with the Illinois lieutenant governor in Mexico, Canada, and Cuba.

From, 2004 to 2012, John DeBlasio was president, owner, and CEO of Sallyport Global Holdings. Offering a full range of construction, logistics, and base operations support, the company expanded beyond initial activities in Iraq during the postwar reconstruction period. Mr. DeBlasio’s firm ultimately maintained operations in several countries spanning the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia. Mr. DeBlasio currently leads Bootstrap Capital, LLC, which offers strategic guidance to entrepreneurs. He also leads GPD Charitable Trust, which has endowed numerous entities, including YMCA of Pittsburgh for its family camping programs.
