Interest

I have always had an avid interest in the enviroment and ways to make this world a better place for the future. I am an expert outdoorsman and have been a lifelong hunter and fisherman.

Field Engineer

Hired as a tender operator to collect fish and transport to buyer. My employers soon found that I had many talents which they could utilize including, mechanic,heavy equipment operator, maintenance engineer, cannery supervisor, fisherman, carpenter. I generally did whatever was necessary to the operation of a fishing/processing operation. I currently live on site and maintain and repair the facilities.

Crane Operator

Miller and Long Concrete Construction

Hired back as a crane operator. Operated several different cranes, which included mobile and tower cranes. 5 years experience operating a 200 ton Lattice boom truck crane which erected and dismanteled 200+ tower cranes. Responsible for the transport and erection of the mobile crane. In charge of making a lift plan and executing the safe and efficient erection and dimantling of tower cranes anywhere from 100 to 280 feet high. When not involved in crane work jobs included, truck driver, mechanic, rigger, erection air crew, crane inspector, training operators. I lived on site and provided security for the maintenance facility in off work hours.

Tower Rigger

Teltronic Towers Inc.

My duties as a tower rigger included: Build, assemble and erect all types of communication towers in a safe and efficient manner. This involved all aspects of tower erection from the foundation to placing the antennaes and everyting in between. Also operated heavy equipment (Loader, Backhoe, Boom Truck).

Carpenter Helper

Miller and Long Concrete Construction.

Hired in August of 1984 as a carpenter helper. I was reponsible for supplying materials to the carpenter crew to keep them busy. Also my duties included assisting and building forms to complete high rise concrete structures. I quickly advanced to apprentice carpenter and then to carpenter. As a result of my positive attitude and attendance record I was trained as an electric hammerhead tower crane operator and used on an as needed bassis until promoted to full time crane operator in 1988. Worked as a tower crane operator on several jobs and when not needed in the crane worked as a carpenter, ironworker, layout engineer and did " whatever it took" to get the job done. Worked in this capacity until July of 1992. I quit and moved on because of lack of crane work.
