About John Balent

For more than 20 years, John Balent has operated his private law practice in Brea, California. He focuses on family law and strives to provide the personalized attention not offered by larger firms. Among other areas of litigation, John Balent assists in cases of divorce, pre- and postnuptial agreements, and paternity disputes. He holds admissions to the State Bar of California and the United States District Court for the Central District of California.

Active in his community, Mr. Balent manages the Placentia Presbyterian Church’s soup kitchen, which he founded in 1989. In addition to feeding individuals in need, he uses the kitchen to create service opportunities for local youth organizations. He has also worked with a number of other charity groups, including Fishers of Men, El Sauzal Orphanage, and the Presbyterian Disaster Relief.

John Balent earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he also competed on the swim and dive team. He then focused on law, completing his juris doctor at Pepperdine University School of Law.
