About Joe Rizzi (Oregon)

Oregon resident Joe Rizzi has over twenty years of senior leadership experience working as a vice president and project manager in the construction industry. He has spent the past eight years as an executive for two emergency management programs. Mr. Rizzi served as director of emergency management for the city of Eugene from 2007 to 2013, and afterwards as director of emergency management for Multnomah County, Oregon’s most populous county. In both positions, Mr. Rizzi brought together first responders, government agencies, and community leaders to provide the best approaches to mitigation, response, and recovery. He led efforts to restructure both city and country departments to more efficiently meet emergency management needs in regards to training, outreach, and operations.

Mr. Rizzi is a past legislative chair and president of the Oregon Emergency Management Association, a member of Oregon’s Stage Fire Marshall Incident Management Team, a representative to the International Association of Emergency Management, and vice chair of the Regional Disaster Preparedness Organization.
