Sports agent Joel Bell is the President of Bell Sports, Inc., and has personally negotiated nearly a billion dollars in contracts for professional basketball players over the past 24 years. From its offices in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and overseas in Milan, Barcelona, Athens, and Budapest, Bell Sports are responsible for the management of more than 40 athletes in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and other leagues.After earning his Law degree from the Duke University School of Law in 1987, Joel Bell served with a major international law firm as a business litigator specializing in cases involving a high degree of economic complexity. He has worked in addition as the World Basketball League’s Director of International Events and wrote columns for numerous publications, including the Australian Basketball Week, the Greek publication Trepunto, Italy’s Superbasket and Street & Smith’s American basketball publication.As a professional basketball agent, Joel Bell has represented numerous top-five NBA draft picks, and was cited by ESPN for negotiating what was dubbed as the best NBA contract in the last decade. Mr. Bell provides clients with the full range of professional sports services, from pre-draft strategy and specialized training programs and post-draft endorsement opportunities to personalized marketing campaigns and public relations and career development platforms. He has established interfaith youth basketball leagues across the country, as well as several scholarship funds to aid youth who lack opportunity. In his spare time, Joel Bell enjoys competitive curling and belongs to the Potomac Curling Club, taking boxing classes, and spending time with his three children.
