Joe Amicone has accumulated diverse experience in both the private and public legal sectors, with an emphasis on economic development and energy issues. In September of 2012, Joe Amicone began working in his current position as Senior Vice President of Program Development at Greenlight Energy Group, LLC, a renewable energy marketer. His responsibilities focus on initiatives for the company’s Green Power Communities program. This program actively promotes the use of renewable energy by providing economic and environmental benefits to companies and individuals who choose to participate. Prior to his current career with Greenlight Energy Group, Joe Amicone served as Senior Legal Counsel at Harris Beach PLLC in Albany and Saratoga Springs, New York. Clients of Mr. Amicone included local development corporations, industrial development agencies, and private developers. While at the firm, he served in the Energy, Public Finance, and Economic Development practice groups. Mr. Amicone previously served as Assistant Counsel to the Governor of New York. In this position, he was accountable for legal issues related to energy, public authorities, and economic development. Earlier in his career, Mr. Amicone held positions including Director of Brownfield Development for Empire State Development, Attorney with Rose Law Firm, PLLC, and Assistant Counsel with the New York State Thruway Authority in Albany. His work in that position entailed negotiating real property transactions for the New York State Canal Corporation and the Thruway Authority. Joe Amicone holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Le Moyne College and a Master of Arts in Public Communications from Fordham University. He went on to study law at Albany Law School, graduating cum laude with his Juris Doctor in 1997. Beyond his career interests, Mr. Amicone enjoys golfing, playing tennis, reading, and spending his free time with his children.
