I am an author, artist and educator with a sustained commitment to social justice and the care of all creatures. Woven through my experience is the utilization of attentive listening and problem solving strategies to achieve solutions that offer agency and empowerment to everyone.

Work History

College Counselor

Reach College Counseling provides personalized writing guidance for the college bound student.  I created Reach College Counseling because of my passion for access to higher education for everyone.  Reach College Counseling offers high school students tools to support the college application process. Parents benefit from prospective college students taking ownership of the college preparation process. This small business is in the initial phase and is growing with the support of the brilliant non-profit Empowered Women International.

Admissions Counselor

Engaged in all aspects of the admissions process, including applicant and student advising.
Designed and managed orientation program.
Supervised volunteers. 
Designed workshops on financial aid, course enrollment and other topics related to enrollment and retention for a variety of audiences including students, faculty, staff and board of trustees. Prepared reports on admissions data and retention.
Assisted with marketing and social media presence.
Contributed to fundraising plans and implementation.
Conducted all visit arrangements for prospective students.
Served on Educational Model committee reporting to the board of trustees and ultimately the Association of Theological Schools accreditation committee.

Director of Special Educational Services

Design and launch special needs initiative.
Prepare reports for the Board of Directors, including budget and impact of program design
Educate the community about the laws related to special needs access while also advising on policies.
Apply for and secure grants for the programmatic needs of the initiative.
Design, develop and deliver curriculum in order to "teach the teachers" in order to increase access for all members of the community.
