As a senior counsel with Foley & Lardner, LLP, in Chicago, Joanne Lee contributes to the firm’s business-litigation and dispute-resolution practices and bankruptcy and business reorganizations. Ms. Lee also acts as co-chair of the Asian Pacific American Affinity Group within the firm. Since starting as an associate in 2004, she has focused on corporate legal matters, particularly Chapter 11 cases. Joanne Lee contributed to several prominent cases during her initial years with Foley & Lardner, LLP, including a full judgment in a multibillion-dollar Chapter 11 proceeding and a successful brief and argument in front of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Joanne Lee has spent much of the past two years representing Fortune 500 companies in Chapter 11 proceedings. With her extensive experience, Ms. Lee handles all aspects of the case from the initial negotiations through the final settlements. Aside from Chapter 11 cases, she also possesses extensive knowledge of indemnification issues, tortious interference, liquidated damage clauses, and unfair competition. Joanne Lee assisted with the discovery process during a major class-action lawsuit against a Fortune 200 corporation as well, providing her with a deep understanding of electronic discovery. An alumnus of the University of Chicago, Joanne Lee graduated with a Juris Doctor.
