  • Responsible for external and internal communications for three commercial satellite programs.
    • Plan, manage, develop and execute communications plans and strategies, including satellite launch communications plans.
    • Work with local CA and trade media to build brand and public awareness of Boeing commercial satellite programs resulting in local and trade media coverage.
    • Social media – building and executing social media communications plans that include Twitter and Flickr.
    • Contributor to Boeing intranet news site - BNN.
  • Responsible for El Segundo employee communications.
    • Manage the processing and approval of “hot topics” for El Segundo intranet site – including reviewing and editing submitted content.
    • Send out employee communications via group email boxes for various site functions and on behalf of executives.

    • North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week: Promote NAOSH Week through media and public relations activities. Help with organization of kick-off events in Washington D.C. and the ASSE annual “Safety on-the-Job” Kids’ poster contest. Assisted in expanding the poster contest internationally.
    • ASSE Professional Development Conference and Exhibition: Write speeches for Society President and President-elect as well as write scripts for general sessions. Help with coordinating rehearsal schedules, work with event production team and assist in event logistics.
    • ASSE Leadership Conference: Wrote introductory speeches for Board of Directors and taught session on the value of public relations.
    • ASSE Future Safety Leaders Conference: Led round table discussion about public relations; interviewed students about the future of the safety profession for internal and external use; and served as event photographer.

    • Safety Suitcase: Designed and created an interactive classroom outreach tool for society members to use and present to 4th – 6th grade students to teach them about safety and the safety, health and environmental profession:
    • Speakers Bureau: Wrote speeches and organized topics for members to use on topics from nanotechnology to safety standards.
    • Brochures: Helped write and edit copy and design for print brochures; Your Guide to a Career in the Occupational Safety, Health and Environmental Profession; Workplace Guide for Young Workers; Preventing Roadway Crashes; Hazardous Materials Information Guide; and Be Safe at Work: Tips for Teens.
    • Online Safety Game:Worked with outside vendor to develop an interactive online game to teach teens about workplace safety in a fun way. Coordinated copy, safety material, game flow and ideas throughout the development process.

As a public relations and communications professional with nearly 10 years experience in the field, it is my goal to use my proven media placement capabilities, writing skills and knowledge of the industry from a corporate B2B, agency and non-profit perspective to enhance media outreach and build brand awareness. I have a track record of increasing media placement for companies and have published several industry-related articles. I also have experience with speech writing, crisis communication, web-based marketing, design and web copy.
