Prior to graduating high school, I took the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board exam to receive my certificate. I worked at Denton Regional Medical Center during breaks I had from attending college. I thoroughly enjoyed this job because I had many responsibilities. I was in charge of making IV's and piggy back IV's (pgIV) for the majority of my shifts so, a lot of my time was focused on making sure the right dosage and correct proportion of medicine/nutrients were being inserted and then delivered to the patients. Other responsibilities included packing pills, delivering medicine, checking the pharmacy's inventory and checking each nurse's station inventory. I walked away from this job with a lot more than a pay check. I was able to see all types of health professionals working together and many times shadow them while I was doing my job at the same time.
