Jason Leber

As a student of commerce, I graduated in the fields of both Marketing and Economics.  I have a broad understanding of the steps involved in the process, from manufacturing to the end consumer.  I have also put a great deal of effort into the study of demographics and how it affects a buyer's behavior.

I am currently pursuing my MBA with a 4.0 GPA and will be graduating in December of 2012.  The professional MBA program offered through NIU was an accelerated eleven month program that has taken a great deal of time management, dedication, and sacrifice, but the knowledge gained is immeasurable.

I graduated in May of 2009 with a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and a minor in Economics from the prestigious College of Business of Northern Illinois University.  During my academic career I have achieved placement on the Dean's List from Rock Valley College and Northern Illinois University with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and 4.0 in my minor.  In addition, because of high academic stature, I have been accepted to the Management and Marketing Honor's Society (SIE).

I am a Marine who served in both Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) during my term of enlistment.I was honorably discharged on December 2, 2004 having earned various certificates of achievement, awards, and most notably medals of distinguished service accomplishments.  While enlisted I was deployed to more than 15 countries for a time period totaling over 18 months.  I have been a part of coordinating efforts from four different country's military personnel under NATO's supervision to accomplish a common objective.I have a strong sense of leadership and responsibility developed from my many experiences in the Marine Corps. While I have received the status of "Special Disable Veteran" due to service connected disabilities, I would not trade the experience or the opportunity to serve my country for anything.

Many of the skills I have learned from the military have carried over into my personal and professional life.  I have an extraordinary work ethic and I am extremely self motivated.  As a result, one of my professors asked me to complete an independent study with him during my last semester and one professor offered me a position in his personal company.  In addition, my previous employer asked me to take part in a committee to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.  He admired my ability to think creatively and to make constructive suggestions in a respectful manner.

I am well organized and exceptional at time management.  I recently became a new father while still able to maintain, if not improve, my grades and academic efforts since his birth. This life-changing event has made me even more effective at utilizing the time I have in order to make it as productive as possible.
