My consultancy works with a range of companies and individuals, from lawyers and engineers to innovators and educators - in fact anyone who needs to communicate an idea, a product. or a process to a non technical audience. To do this we use a range of 3D software that includes 3D Studio Max, SolidWorks, SketchUp, and Rhinoceros, and produce deliverables ranging from working 3D models of mechanisms to technical animations, photomontages, precision graphics, videos, and interactive media. I am also a board member and operations manager of the Santa Cruz Design + Innovation Center, whose mission is to enable the extensive creative professional community in Santa Cruz to collaborate as a functional unit and make Santa Cruz recognized globally as a major design and technical innovation center.

As a freelance consultant I use 3D computer modeling to produce architectural renderings, digital models, courtroom graphic exhibits, animation, and designs for products and displays. Significant projects include: development of an innovative continuously variable gear concept in SolidWorks and Rhinoceros, with functional prototyping in laser cut steel and SLS nylon; the creation and presentation of still and animated courtroom exhibits for a major lawsuit heard in US District Court, Fresno; the design of hardware and software for a nationwide interactive display program for Nextel; the creation of a wide range of precise models used in animations for Boeing Aerospace; television advertisements, music videos, instructive animations, and promotional material. I handle all stages of a project from initial sketch concepts to broadcast-ready animation or SolidWorks engineering drawings, ensuring consistency and efficiency.

Animator and multimedia developer
At Sun I was technical animator/visualizer responsible for creating illustrations and animations for field service documentation of high-end workstations. Distributed on CD-ROMs and pre-installed on hard drives, the resulting multimedia reflected Sun's professional standing in the engineering community with their accuracy and usability. I produced highly creative and technical projects in an environment of compressed schedules and constant engineering changes while maintaining ongoing liaison with technical writing teams, internal engineering teams, usability professionals, and software specialists.
