Customer Services Advisor


- Along with my manager, I am in co-charge of running the site's office.

- A major role for me is to ensure that the office is running smoothly and that all problems are quickly resolved.- A large amount of my time is spent independently, so personal efficiency is crucial, as well as the ability to effectively time-manage.- My other roles include cleaning our mobile units, ensuring that the communciation is maintained between ourselves and the hospital staff, and presenting a friendly and helpful image at all times.

- My key role in this position was to maintain a strong and frequent sales flow by assisting customers when they wished to purchase a gift(s) for Christmas. I had sales targets on a daily and weekly basis, which I met by pushing myself to highlight the benefits of the many products on offer.

- I used my listening abilities to pick out the best item(s) for the customers.

- I assisted with the management of the stock levels instore.

- I used the cash register on a frequent basis.

- My role involved communicating with customers on the shop floor and assisting them with their purchases and/or queries. I was based mainly in the entertainment section, but I also helped out in any other area where I was needed.- I was also in charge of organising the stock for the entertainment department, ensuring that the correct amount was delivered, and that it was all in good condition.

- I once won a regional sales award for 'Most online sales from February-March', using the company's online ordering system.

I have had to use my communicative skills for every job that I've had, including for my degree at university. Whether it has been assisting a customer with choosing the right purchase, handling a customer complaint which may require delicate handling, or presenting myself in front of a class to give a solo presentation, I've improved and refined my communicative skills over the years.   Communication is also required for my current role when dealing with two different kinds of groups, the hospital patients and the hospital staff. I have to adapt different stances with each group as my company aims are different, and so this has required an ability to change my style of speaking as necessary, which I have developed over the months.


I first developed my experience of using I.T. systems with the Key Skills Level 2 in I.T. qualification I gained in Solihull Sixth Form College. From there, I have used computers at home, as well as in my current role at Hospedia. I also used computers, specifically Microsoft Office, at university, where I gained knowledge of using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint and Word for a variety of uses, from every-day use to specific presentations.   I also have used Powerpoint for a number of social work, such as for volunteer groups, and frequently use Word for my own time.
