Activities Director

Sunny Hills Assisted Living

Maintaining a healthy, active, and social lifestyle for the retired is crucial to sustain and improve the quality of life for our loved ones. As Activities Director I facilitate various activities, from morning social hour, BINGO, community outings, group exercise, and room to room visitations, I strive to keep a balance of energy and friendliness while encouraging participation. Also introducing new programs and analyzing each one's success, I work with caregivers to offer the highest quality programming for the residents.

With a strong emphasis on planning, sustainability, and mixed use development I worked on a variety of design from concept plans, schematic design, and design development.

Primarily I worked on the design development end, producing renderings, diagrams, plans, and models for a collaborative design process discussion with current clients.

Development Leader

Ball State University Business Fellows

Working for an Eli Lilly Fellowship program, I was team leader for a student run grant project, working in downtown Muncie, IN with the local YWCA facility.

Duties Included:

  • building analysis and space planning
  • program analysis
  • networking with similar facilities for analysis and program development
  • establishing a relationship with both Ball State University and other local companies for shared resources and volunteers
  • creating a grant writing technique for facility improvements and program start up
  • writing an effective 1 year 5 year and 10 year strategic plan for the building and also programs, employees, and funding
  • marketing and promotion strategy analysis for continued growth and community education/awareness

Marketing Associate

Working as a marketing associate, I was trained to conduct in-store direct marketing techniques for Home Depot Corp. and their home refacing and improvement consulting and installation services. Informing customers of new promotions, educating them on new home improvement techniques, cost cutting processes, and scheduling local in home consultations. Main focus was:

  • daily, weekly lead goals
  • customer service and assistance
  • refacing and remodel education

  • in-store management relationship networking

Seasonal Attendant

Independence Oaks County Park

Working in a high volume recreational park and natural preserve.

My primary responsibilities were running the boat rental and instruction, including fishing instruction and boating safety/recovery. During the winter, I ran the cross country ski rental and instruction.

Other duties included general park maintenance and public direction/event staffing and preparation.

Ball State University


Attending Ball State University, I gained experience in the digital realm of design development and presentation with a strong focus on cultural responsibility, context, tectonics, social master planning strategies, and sustainability. Connecting to local architecture firms allowed me to be aware of existing problems and design issues that are found in the professional industry. Designs ranged from Brownsfield Riverfront development in Pittsburgh, PA,  Indianapolis, IN transportation center, to facility design and planning for The Hawaii Institute for Marine Biology.


Participating in the AIAS Ball State University Chapter and also Emerging Green Builders of USGBC Indiana, I was involved in sustainability education and regional networking with local architecture firms.
