Stuyvesant High School’s year-round athletics program includes a range of sports, such as bowling, fencing, softball, and football. Boys’ fencing takes place during the fall, from September 1 to November 1. In order to participate in sports at the school, students must meet several criteria updated in late 2013 and early 2014. Student-athletes must maintain a 90-percent attendance rate and meet certain academic requirements, such as earning ten credits in the two semesters prior to the season, as well as a passing GPA. They must also turn in medical and parental consent forms bearing a doctor’s signature and stamp and a parent or guardian’s signature, respectively.
