Jim Lefkowitz is a leading entertainment industry veteran with a wide range of experience in law, business, finance, film and television . He is currently Chief Operating Officer of Mandalay Media, Inc. Mandalay Media is an emerging new media distribution and content company that is a global producer and publisher of mobile entertainment. Mr. Lefkowitz was a co-founder of Mandalay Media in 2007, and has helped it grow to $40 million in revenues in 2009.
Mr. Lefkowitz is a Executive Producer on the new Showtime series LOOK, scheduled to air in the fall of 2010. LOOK was created by Adam Rifkin based upon his award winning film. Jim Lefkowitz is also a Producer on the film "Heroes and Villains", the story of acclaimed singer/songwriter Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys.
Mr. Lefkowitz joined Mandalay Media from Cantor Fitzgerald, a global financial services provider and investment bank, where he was managing director of Cantor Entertainment. At Cantor Fitzgerald, Mr. Lefkowitz worked in film finance and oversaw the Hollywood Stock Exchange.
Prior to Cantor, Mr. Lefkowitz was an agent for eight years at Creative Artists Agency, the premiere entertainment industry talent agency, where he represented actors, writers, and directors for film, television, and new media ventures. He represented such talent as Doug Ellin (Creator and Executive Producer of "Entourage") ; Zach Braff ("Scrubs" and "Garden State");David Franzoni ( "Amistad" and the Academy Award winning film "Gladiator") ;Bonnie Hunt; Michael Keaton (Batman"); and Cuba Gooding Jr. (Academy Award for "Jerry Maguire").
Mr. Lefkowitz began his career as an attorney at the law firm of Manatt, Phelps and Phillips in Los Angeles. He subsequently worked as a business affairs executive at The Walt Disney Studios, where he negotiated writer, actor, producer and director deals, film financing arrangements, and rights acquisitions for Touchstone Pictures and Walt Disney Pictures. He is a graduate of The University of Michigan School of Business Administration and Law School.
