The Hamner Barber Variety Show is an incredible evening of fun featuring hilarious comedy of Jim Barber, magical illusions of The Hamners, and a talented troupe of dancers.

Jim Barber, considered one of the world's great ventriloquists, was featured on CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman." His clever comedy and original characters leave everyone talking! Stars of NBC's "World's Greatest Magic," the Hamners present their original act in which a bevy of beautiful exotic birds appear out of nowhere and take flight over the astonished audience. 

Primary duties include: 

  • Marketing Director - Create all media (Print, Signage, Video, Website, Social Media)
  • Co-Star Performer - Master of Ceremonies, Comedian Ventriloquist, Featured Singer

Held at the Glen Campbell Goodtime Theater, Jim Initiated and produced this special two-week engagement of Famous People Players direct from Toronto, Canada after seeing a documentary about this amazing black-light puppetry group on television.  Jim coordinated all marketing materials for this event including design of rack brochures, billboard, radio and TV advertising.

During these years, Jim toured the entire country full time performing at nearly 2,000 colleges and universities and was represented by Kramer International (Grand Rapids, MI). During this time he was honored as the "International Ventriloquist of the Year," "Comedy Entertainer of the Year," by the National Association of Campus Activities and Showtime, the Movie Channel named him one of the "Funniest People in America" (Tennessee Representative) for his technical vocal skills and creative approach to the art of ventriloquism.

Co-hosted and Co-produced "Breakfast With Casey Jones," a daily children's television show with Minnesota Broadcasting Hall of Fame recipient Roger Awsumb. Jim was responsible for creative development and writing of segment routines and skits, booking guests, and participated in many personal appearance promotions at fairs, festivals, schools and parades.
