I am currently a second year Economics and Management (BSc) student at The University of Bristol. Studying economics has helped me to cultivate a keen and analytical mind, with good problem-solving skills and the ability to think not only logically, but quickly. I am extremely rational, enthusiastic and hardworking. My academic success not only highlights my hard-working attitude, but also my desire to excel. This is amplified by the fact that I had to beat cancer during my studies, which is my proudest achievement. In January 2018 I was diagnosed with stage IV Hodgkins Lympthoma, a type of blood cancer, and had to suspend my studies for a year and undertake extensive chemotherapy. That year was the hardest year of my life, and one of the hardest things any young person can ever go through, but it is because of this that I have an extremely powerful resilience and mental strength, which I believe cannot be found in anyone else. I was even nominated by The Royal Marsden for a Youth Achievement Award, due to my commitment, courage and strength in continuing my studies after battling such a horrible disease. Having my life be nearly taken away at such a young age awoke something inside of me, and since I have been in remission I am making sure that nothing will ever stop me from reaching my potential.
