About Me

I am currently a second year Economics and Management (BSc) student at The University of Bristol. Studying economics has helped me to cultivate a keen and analytical mind, with good problem-solving skills and the ability to think not only logically, but quickly. I am extremely rational, enthusiastic and hardworking.  My academic success not only highlights my hard-working attitude, but also my desire to excel. This is amplified by the fact that I had to beat cancer during my studies, which is my proudest achievementIn January 2018 I was diagnosed with stage IV Hodgkins Lympthoma, a type of blood cancer, and had to suspend my studies for a year and undertake extensive chemotherapy. That year was the hardest year of my life, and one of the hardest things any young person can ever go through, but it is because of this that I have an extremely powerful resilience and mental strength, which I believe cannot be found in anyone else. I was even nominated by The Royal Marsden for a Youth Achievement Award, due to my commitment, courage and strength in continuing my studies after battling such a horrible disease. Having my life be nearly taken away at such a young age awoke something inside of me, and since I have been in remission I am making sure that nothing will ever stop me from reaching my potential.

Work Experience

Topman, Sales Adviser

Churchill Square Shopping Centre, Brighton

My time at Topman taught me many new skills, particularly in organisation and customer service which are both key aspects of the job; the role greatly improved not only my self confidence but also my confidence in being able to deal with all sorts of situations, whether colleague, product or customer related.

The great service and skills that I regularly demonstrated during my time at Topman were rewarded by my manager, on the 29th of July 2015: I was awarded a Certificate of Achievement and was signed off as an Advanced Member, something I am extremely proud of.

Academic year 2015/16                                                          2:1

Last June I completed my first year of my degree and strongly believe studying economics has helped me to cultivate a keen and analytical mind, with good problem solving skills and the ability to think not only logically but quickly.  Studying at a prestigious University like Bristol not only highlights my clear ambition and determination to strive for success in everything I do but also shows key skills such as work ethic and time management, which are greatly needed in any field of employment.
