  • Developed and implemented program policies, tools and communications to support two high-profile internal programs: an online employee ideas program and a venture fund for innovative internal government projects
  • Developed and delivered events/workshops on strategies and techniques for cultivating innovation in the public sector; and on developing persuasive venture fund applications (in person and via WebEx)
  • Devised presentations, articles, brochures, tip sheets, intranet content, award applications, quarterly reports; designed and laid out all program materials; facilitated panel discussions and meetings with program partners; developed and managed events plan
  • Online ideas program launched on time and on budget to audience of 65,000+ employees; 2000+ ideas to date, of which 200+ are being implemented
  • Developed and delivered training for administrators, call centre staff and users on using the online system, resulting in less than 10 support calls since launch
  • Venture fund ($3 million annual pool) has delivered an estimated $22 million in cost savings/avoidance annually

  • Developed a range of content for technical, non-technical consumer and business audiences (e.g. Web content; product brochures; online Flash presentations; business plans; technical white papers; direct mail; press releases) for six technology startups with highly distinct business offerings and target audiences
  • Researched emerging technologies and software companies and deal flow using web-based technologies and industry analysts; performing competitive analysis based on my research findings; assessed incoming business plans seeking venture financing
  • Wrote, edited and updated Tira Wireless business plan that secured $3 million US in first-round funding in extremely difficult market conditions
  • Developed core messaging and marketing collateral for portfolio company, Think Dynamics, which assisted in its acquisition and was the Canadian Venture Capital Association’s 2003 ‘Deal of the Year’

    • Developed masthead for weekly membership email and led user testing of new website as committee member
