Watco is a transportation company deeply rooted in the railroad industry with over $100 million in annual sales with over 2200 employees in over 30 states.
Since joining Watco in 2004 it has grown from 850 employees with 6 railroads to 2200 employees operating 22 railroads, 16 railcar repair shops, a trucking fleet and warehousing capabilities. In this capacity I have been responsible for all aspects of the Human Resource function including benefits, leadership development, pension, and 401k trusteeship in addition to all other related functions. I am most proud that I developed a regional human resources team and grew the department from three (3) employees to eleven (11) employees in four (4) regional offices throughout the country. I developed a training program for our front – line and mid level managers in all locations and delivered by my HR team. “Everything you need to grow from Hire to Retire”. I dealt directly with eight (8) collective bargaining units.
