Accomplished Live Sound Engineer/Tour Manager for several working bands, with ten plus years of technical and business experience in the Audio field. Demonstrated skills and knowledge in live sound engineering, studio and remote music recording. Proven abilities in leadership role as Tour Manager  and Production Manager of bands. Vast knowledge of all equipment involved in live sound, including Digico, Yamaha, Midas and Soundcraft live mixing consoles. Extensive knowledge of big band stage set ups and production. Mix shows for 3 big bands on US soil and abroad in many different countries such as Thailand, Japan, Italy, Netherlands, France, and Finland to name a few. Worked with some of the great performers of our time. From the 5 years of working at WBGO working with artists like Randy Weston, Monty Alexander, Chick Corea, and Dave Holland to name a few. To present day work with some of the greatest big bands currently performing. Artists include James Moody, Jimmy Heath, Roy Hargrove, Antonio Hart, John Lee, Lewis Nash, Benny Green, and Cyrus Chestnut.

WBGO-Newark Public Radio Inc., an NPR Station
  • Responsible for day to day operations of offices and studios and remote broadcasts for #1 market Jazz Radio station.   Oversee technical aspects of remote broadcasts including provisioning ofISDN, POTS, ISP, etc. for uplink to satellite over the NPR satellite system. Oversee technical aspects of computers, networking, telephone systems, PBX, satellite downlink, transmitter, web, streaming audio, quality control of on-air, FCC compliance, studio and remote music recording and broadcasting, staff technical training, budgeting, planning, facilities scheduling, physical plant, HVAC, security, etc.Oversee staff of 8, including board operators.

  • Served as the station’s chief operator with responsibility for reviewing our transmitter logs and keeping the station in compliance with FCC rules and procedures
  • Assist program director to develop the station’s production sound, which include writing and producing promotional and underwriting announcements, and funding credits and discrete programs
  • Provide operations and technical support for all WBGO-sponsored events by working directly with concert venue staff, promoters, bands, and engineers in setting up studio and remote broadcasts for the station.
  • Responsible for overseeing the renovation of the entire radio station, including the moves to and from remote locations housing station employees.Also for the inspection, troubleshooting, repair, construction and installation of all WBGO technical and physical plant equipment and systems, including broadcast transmission, telephone and HVAC systems.
  • Monitor and evaluate production and broadcast capabilities by analyzing equipment purchases, technical system changes, and facility renovations.
  • Record national programs via the NPR SOSS system.
  • Liaison with external clients for tape synch, ISDN links, satellite links, and in house recordings (BBC, NPR, Tavis Smiley, XM, various radio stations throughout the United States, etc.)
