IT Enterprise Architect IV - IT Enterprise Architecture

Sprint Nextel

Lead a $100M IT architecture program in support Sprint's Network Vision network infrastructure roll-out.  Implemented major system directional changes to create a more efficient IT architecture that consolidated 9 major applications and centralized the data.  Managed the scope, shifting priorities, and cost across 13 IT projects for the 3 year Network Vision IT program timeline. Communicated project plans and strategy to executive management and to project teams.

  • Manage the Operational Support Systems (OSS) IT portfolio consisting of over 400 applications.
  • Define, evaluate, and set direction for the IT systems to support the business.
  • Govern and approve all requests for new functions and applications.
  • Provide IT leadership for major Request for Proposals, including Network Vision.

Awarded Sprint Circle of Excellence Award for my ability to manage multiple competing priorities and keep projects on schedule.

Principal Network Design Engineer, Network Services - Switch Network Planning

Sprint Nextel

Principal design engineer for engineering standards, equipment configuration guidelines, and application management and development.  Established critical requirements for the deployment and operation of key network equipment.  Lead a team of subject matter experts and application developers in the creation of a process based tool that ensured adherence to engineering standards and best practices for network infrastructure equipment deployment and management. 

  • Engineering lead representative for cross functional application requirements team.
  • Defined the business process and engineering guidelines for the deployment of initial 3G voice and data hardware.
  • Managed data integrity and application interfaces from engineering tools to enterprise wide applications to ensure vital information was available throughout the company.

Patent Awarded for the creation of application to manage capacity of network devices.

Teamwork Award for contributions to success of identifying and recovering excess assets.

Provided pre and post sales support for engineering and deployment of Next Generation VOIP switching products and software.  Provided exclusive support for all central region customers switching infrastructure request and configuration issues.

Helped EDS expand business presence into video and multimedia communications at customer facility.  Designed, scheduled, and presented multi-media events for military officers and civilian management.  Managed an in-house video distribution system and video teleconference center for use by senior military officers and civilian personal. 

  • Designed an audio and video studio and editing facility.
  • Created and controlled video programming for the entire facility.

Lead a team of network technicians in the management and monitoring of a large scale network supporting several thousand financial institution network devices maintaining 95% availability.  Designed and configured automated call distribution system for entire government facility that reduced overall call processing time by 50%. 

  • Interfaced with customer senior management in the installation and resolution of system issues.
  • Designed asset tracking system to track the network equipment and location which resulted in a more efficient use of resources.
