Roaring Fork, LLC

Franchisee of Qdoba Mexican Grill national chain of restaurants and owner/manager of commercial real estate.   I joined when the organization owned 19 stores and helped grow to 32 stores.  Also owned and managed seventeen commercial properties, as well as an upscale, full-service restaurant that was unrelated to the Qdoba franchise.

I led all accounting, finance, human resource, risk management, facilities, purchasing, legal, tax and treasury functions and personnel.  I reported to the President/Owner.

General Pet Supply, LLC

Executed a franchise agreement, secured financing, constructed, opened, and managed (via an employee General Manager) all aspects of this single-unit retail establishment.

Drake Beam Morin, Inc. is a global provider of career transition services.  Owned operations in 13 countries and licensees in an additional 40 countries.  Annual revenues approximately $200 million. Led all accounting, finance, real estate & facilities, IT, purchasing, legal, tax and treasury functions and personnel.  Included 60 people in 8 countries.  Reported to the Chief Executive Officer. -  Successfully navigated the company through two sales in 3 years by developing offering memoranda with investment banking firms, presenting the company to potential buyers, meeting all due diligence needs of potential buyers and their consultants, participating in contract negotiations, presenting to potential members of the lending syndicate and meeting their needs for information, and developing and executing post-purchase action plans with the new owners. -  Increased DBM’s market reach, revenues and profits by successfully acquiring several non-US companies and integrating them into the company. -  Enabled DBM to stand alone as an independent organization by creating treasury, tax, legal, and risk management functions after the company was purchased by a private equity firm. -  Positioned DBM appropriately to capitalize on changing market dynamics and protect profitability by rationalizing cost and restructuring in times of declining customer demand. -  Successfully developed an action plan in tandem with Bain & Company to enable DBM to reach full potential strategically and led efforts to implement several company-wide initiatives.

Led all financial analysis, management reporting and parent company reporting.  Served as Controller from 1997 to 2000.    Reported to the Chief Financial Officer.

-   Reduced annual administrative expenses $2 million by project managing the rationalization of corporate functions in New York City and integrating them with DBM’s parent organization in Orlando Florida.

-  Increased annual revenues and operating profits by successfully acquiring several non-US companies and participating in their integration into the firm.

-  Positioned DBM for growth, in times of increased customer demand, by serving on a team with A.T. Kearney to complete a strategic review of the company.

-  Developed a high performance, accountability culture by redeveloping and significantly improving the financial planning and management reporting functions.
