As EDI Programmer added new trading partners and new EDI trading documents using Inovis EDI package in JD Edwards AS/400 environment. RPG programming to maintain JD Edwards A73 environment, included interfaces for EDI and maintenance to existing JDE functions.

As Application Development Manager, designed, coded and implemented computer applications for generic drug manufacturing company. Was responsible for entire department in absence of director for several lengthy periods of time during 10 years at KV. Duties included coordination of development projects for SYNON and RPG developers, as well as supervision of EDI coordinator and computer operations. Wrote programs in RPG and SYNON to help keep projects on schedule. Initiated, installed, and implemented Premenos EDI. As technical lead for this RPG/SYNON AS/400 shop, was also involved in the migration from Vanguard ERP to J D Edwards World. Utilized the Turnover version control product. Initially performed IBM program product installations for new releases as well as applying PTFs. Set up the initial EDI environment for KV and initially brought up trading partners with 850s (Purchase Orders) and 944s (charge backs), then did 810s (Invoices) and 856s (ASNs; Advance Shipment Notices). Reviewed and approved plans to install products since regulated industries require management approval for software installation and upgrades.

As D P Manager and later MIS Director was responsible for the supervision of development and operations staff in this AS/400 environment with 60 remote sites. Managed conversion from IBM S/38 to IBM AS/400. Huttig ran Software 2000 for financials on the AS/400 and home grown applications for the rest of the applications.
