CPG Packaging

I have two years of experience in Consumer Packaged Goods for the Natural Products Industry. Within that time I've personally engineered, designed and managed the print production of over 200 separate packaging projects. I've created bilingual packaging for over four separate countries and ensured that the design and copy met each country's compliancy measures. I was responsible for each aspect of the packaging - from research to engineering the structure of the dieline, doing the creative for the piece, placing the copy, compliance checking and managing communication with printers to ensure the highest quality print every time. 

Branding + Collateral

My experience in the world of design began in brand development, logo design and developing internal collateral for small to mid size businesses. I personally designed and developed the initial collateral for the multi-million dollar Natural Foods company Chosen Foods. This included: business cards, letterhead template, sales catalogs, corporate booklets about the company, branding guidelines, social media posting look & feel, flyers, etc. The benefit of being the one-man show was that I could guarantee consistency across all design collateral whether it be packaging or the christmas card.

Project Management

I've listed this skill for two reasons. One, I think it is possibly the most important secondary skill to have beyond my skillset as a Designer. Secondly, because I've become quite good at it. I personally developed over 3 separate systems over the past two years for my company to improve efficiency and time manage graphic creation, production and even the small stuff like notifying HR of a problem. Now the entire company can use online forms to take the guesswork out of making a request, assign timelines, assign employees to tasks, and view all of them. I also believe myself to be a very effective manager of the Art team I have lead and feel confident in taking over other problem areas to fid a solution when needed.

3D Display + Concept Rendering

While in college I took one class about drafting as architects do in conceptualizing a house layout. I also took furniture design and a 3D modeling class. These courses prepared me to  now use those skills to create incredibly realistic mockups of products, product display systems, tradeshow booths, etc. I found this to be a crucial skill in the retail environment because the market moves fast, and being able to create a realistic mockup digitally can save time when getting to market and closing deals.

Co-Founder - Creative Director

Jobioz, Inc. was a start-up SaaS company that I founded along with two other Founders that launched into our Beta Platform in Summer 2013! More information to come. My position in the company was as a Co-Founder and the team's Creative Director, working with the team to develop the company's platform design, and all graphic media to support it.

My role as Creative Director within the company included Interaction Design (IXD) and User Experience (UX) for the platform, along with overseeing the product development team as a Product Development Manager - managing deadlines, creating operational documentation to facilitate the development process, etc. Other responsibilities as Creative Director include designing and overseeing the development of all graphical media for our branding, social media, email newsletters, marketing materials etc.

Intern - Multimedia Designer

SDSU Web Compass Internship Program

I am working with one other student at San Diego State University and the director of the Entrepreneur Management Center to revamp a San Diego financial valuation company, Vantage Point Advisor's website.

I am in charge of not only designing a new site design which strategically targets the company's target customers and business industries, but also to personally perform the back-end web development functions required to remodel the current site in WordPress to reflect the design alterations.
