I am in process of being a graduate of East Carolina University in December 2011, having earned my B.S. in Communications with a broadcast journalism concentration.
With this concentration, I had the opportunity to host shows for a production called, ” Art’s Thread: An East Carolina University Production”. Also co-anchoring an advance reporting newscast, which was aired on Pitt County's local television station. During the summer of 2009, I was given the opportunity to work with the Washington Chiefs, a minor football team in Washington, D.C., doing reporting for their weekend games and banquets hosted by the organization.
Currently, I am interning for WCTI News Channel 12. I shadow reporter, Mike Valerio on local stories. This internship has given me a better perspective of the media field and also a better understanding as to what direction I want to head in for my career.
While at East Carolina University, I had the luck of being a student-athlete with an earned scholarship for basketball. This opportunity granted me to understand the importance of time management as well as bring out the best in a person mentally.
With my media experience combined with an impeccable work ethic, the skill of multitasking, and the desire to meet various deadlines; the manifestation of my versatility within the media industry would be a benefit to any company.
