"Leave no stone unturned" -Euripides

I am Jesse Benz. Welcome to my ePortfolio. You will find my goals, skills, and accomplishments. Please feel free to browse and get to know me a little bit.

Mission, Vision, and Values

I strive to make a positive impact on someones life everyday. No matter how small or large that impact may be. This is what drives me and provides me with fulfillment.

I dream of a world where people reach out first with hands not cell phones. A world where people help those in need instead of video taping it. I hope to see a place where random acts of kindness replace being an idle bystander.

I value integrity, family, and professionalism. Living by these integral parts of my life I am continually growing as a person.

I would like to have a successful career in the public safety sector or restaurant industry.

I want to be a leader in my community

I want to provide continued excellence in the work place

I would like to complete my diploma in the summer of 2016

I want to continue life long learning.

Volunteer Experience

2011-2015 Caroline Ag Society- Christmas dinner Waiter and Wine service.

2009-2016 Caroline Community- Continuous volunteer work with helping community members and building community projects.

In many of my past work experiences my environment was always changing. No part of may day was static, everyday was different. I have learned to adapt quickly and on the fly to any situation which may arise.

Problem solving

I have shown that I can solve problems in creative and new ways. Often when a solution can not be found people will turn to me to find it.

As a former member of the Canadian Forces I have experience leading a large group. During this time I had to manage schedules, morale, conflicts, and discipline. Motivating and supporting my coworkers was very important.

I work as a bartender. The potential to steal liquor or pour free drinks is in front of me everyday. I am constantly dealing with loose change and financial transactions. I have extensive experience working alone with out supervision. Having integrity plays a key role in managing these responsibilities.

Interpersonal communication

Working as a disability support worker I teach communication and relationship skills on a daily basis. I have become adept at reading body language and physical ques. This allows me to anticipate a lot during an interaction.

  • Responsible- I can handle working with high responsibilities and making the right choice.
  • Trustworthy- I can be counted on to be honest and upfront.
  • Adaptable- I can work in ever changing environments. I handle stressful and surprise situations very well.
  • Dependable-I am always there and on time. You can count on me to complete my assigned tasks.
  • Personable- I am very approachable. I am skilled at engaging and disengaging conversations.
  • Professional- I highly value professionalism. I pride myself on maintaining professionalism every day.
