Vanity Couture Photography

When I look at the world, I automatically see a photograph that can be captured. I see it in the simplest things: the sprinkles on a bowl of ice cream, the way the light catches a chandelier, or even the way the colors of soap mix on the windshield at the car wash. Photography is an art form that allows me to express myself by capturing people in a moment of self-expression. We're all vain, in one way or another, and I believe that Vanity is a beautiful thing, as a matter of fact it's my favorite sin.

Vintage Vanity

I make the world a little more fabulous through my discovery and sale of vintage clothing. Vintage Vanity was created as a business to sell vintage items I acquired from my Grandmother’s large collection. I branched out to visiting estate sales to find vintage treasures to sell in my online store, as well. Vintage Vanity became an approved vendor for The Augusta Market on the River in April 2012. Items are also sold via the Vintage Vanity Facebook page and Etsy shop.

I am writing to recommend Ms. Jessica Hanson for a position with your company. I believe Jessica would be an asset to your firm given her intellect, drive, and real-world experience.

I have gotten to know Jessica this year through the Lambda Pi Eta National Communication Honors Society. She is the treasurer of our campus chapter and I serve as faculty advisor to the group. Jessica was invited to join Lambda Pi Eta due to her very high level of academic achievement. She will be graduating this fall with a perfect 4.0 GPA. That is a rare achievement and speaks to her strong intellect across many disciplines.

Jessica has excellent organizational skills. I worked with her to help plan the Lambda Pi Eta initiation ceremony this fall and was impressed by her ability to get things done. She is mature and conscientious and works on tasks independently. She was a real plus to the organization this fall!

Due to her intellect and drive, Jessica was able to gain real-world experience at several internship sites. She held a position with The Not Wedding working mainly with social networking and event planning and her work was very well-received. She also has held a consulting position with a public relations firm in Macon working with their social networking and her work was excellent.

I know Jessica would excel at anything she puts her mind to do. She would bring intelligence, passion for the field, and real-world experience to the position.

Jessica Hanson was instrumental in helping me with the marketing of my first book, Bella Blue and a dratted blah blah day. From the start, Jessica contacted me with a prompt email introducing herself and informing me of her gifts and talents as well as love for photography.  She was very willing to meet with me as soon as possible so we could make a plan for my promotion and  take some pictures for Bella Blue's portfolio. Jessica accompanied me, on a Saturday morning mind you, to a book signing titled the Augusta Literary Festival.  This was extremely helpful to me because she gave her time and talents as she snapped pictures, offered support and even promoted my book for me when I had to step away from my table.  Jessica also took time out of her own busy schedule to visit me in my home where she took several pictures for the promotion of my blog and website.  I'm sure this took no less than three hours but Jessica was very patient and thoughtful in her approach offering many wonderful suggestions.  Jessica was not only prompt on the timing of her e mail correspondence but was never late to any of the signings she attended.  Jessica used her creativity and photography 'know how' to design my promotional flyer's that were disbursed throughout our town.  She also offered encouragement and support on my facebook page reminding her followers as well as my own about upcoming events and book signings. Jessica is highly recommended as she is a perfectionist in her work and I can tell takes her commitments very seriously.  She is creative in all of her photography suggestions and approaches and is a joy to work with.  Fondly, Sissie Dale Author of Bella Blue and A Dratted Blah Blah Day

Dear Jessica,

Thank you for the nice testimonial you wrote about how social media has helped you get plugged in to the Augusta area and how you continue to use it to enhance your news gathering and social life experience. Your story is important because it reflects what I strive to do each day here at The Augusta Chronicle, keep people informed and connected. I am excited to share your testimonial with our staff to continue to encourage them to engage with our great community!

I also want to encourage and commend you on your own social media and public relations abilities. I have followed your tweets and posts in return and have to say that you are excelling in this area and standout as an Augusta State University PR student. I have yet to meet another student at Augusta State that has the social media following and networking experience that you do. Keep up the great work at excelling above the others. You are going to do great things.

I really love Jessica Hanson's photography. The way she captures the poise of a subject is remarkable. Whether it is a subject in motion or at rest, she portrays the elegance and grace of said subject. She has an amazing eye for detail and really helps bring her photography to life.

To whom it may concern,

It is my pleasure to recommend Jessica Hanson.  Her performance working as a social media intern for The SoChi Companies proved that she will be a valuable asset and addition to any company.

She has gone above and beyond what’s been asked of her and has done it with great enthusiasm.  She has excellent written and verbal communication skills, is extremely organized, can work autonomously and can effectively multi-task to ensure all projects are completed in a timely manner.

If I can be of any further assistance or provide you with more information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I am seeking a Public Relations position which will require me to integrate my writing skills, advertising campaign and media relations expertise to accomplish the agency's ultimate marketing goals, along with allowing me to utilize my photography and creative skills to produce a quality product.

Social Media
I've been a part of the social media scene dating as far back as LiveJournal and Xanga. I love to stay plugged in through various social media sources such as: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, FourSquare, and Tumblr to name a few. Social media is the revolution and I am completely on board.
Vintage Clothing Buyer/Dresser
I acquire vintage fashion pieces via browsing through my Grandmother's extensive collection and at estate sales. I then create beautifully fashionable ensembles, photograph each of them and list them on both of my vintage clothing websites for sale. I am an approved Augusta Market vendor and I enjoy displaying my items in my booth there and meeting fun new customers.
I photograph anything and everything from live performances to cemeteries. I can find beauty in pretty much anything and capture a photo worth more than 1000 words.
Feature Writing
Writing narrative features applying literary techniques to true stories, using excellent style and grammar, thinking critically about structure and format and finding stories that matter to myself and my audience. My goal is write stories that capture the reader's attention because they are, at their very core, human.
