Team Leader reporting directly to Divisional Engineering Manager. Lead responsibilities included directing divisional test services activities for new product development, production launches and improving product performance by successfully delivering prototype samples to customers, completing validation testing and transferring product knowledge to manufacturing teams.
·Managed 10-12 highly skilled cross-functional technicians and engineers including hiring, goal setting, development plans, recognition and performance reviews. Developed and deployed a core skills handbook, cross training matrix and test services roadmap to set direction, goals, development plans and build organizational capability for the department.Scheduled ~350 test requests annually on ~25 test stands and ~24 test vehicles with an exceptionally high rate of on-time completion including resources, calibration and preventative maintenance.
·Managed $6M in capital with a budget of $500,000 to $1,000,000 annually for new and upgrading vehicle drivetrain test equipment, vehicles and facilities improvements including appropriation request formulation and approval. Consistently achieved budget guidelines and reviewed assets for opportunities for de-capitalization.
·Provided critical expertise in facilities development and testing protocol as part of successful start up of a new research facility in Korea.Coordinated testing between the two facilities.
·Managed $3.5M operating budget and effectively managed a broad spectrum of vendors to ensure low cost and on-time delivery of key supplies and services.Primary responsibilities included procurement card management, strategic sourcing and procurement process.
·Led and directed test engineering team activities including test stand and fixture development to test new products, selection of data acquisition and test stand control systems, fabrication, installation, assembly, operation, validation and training.
·Quality system management skills ensured department adherence to TS 19649 standards with an emphasis on documented test procedures and work instructions, gage and test stand calibration, tracking and component organization resulting in no major findings in four years of internal and external audits.
·Managed a team for sales and marketing that presented ride and drive activities in Europe, South America, North America and Asia that resulted in significant new business wins and launched products globally to support ~$50M in new global sales. Directed on-site activities including customer tours, special event coordination and produced three product marketing videos with animations of product function.
·Facilities management responsibilities involved improving test lab infrastructure, including facility layout, electrical requirements, HVAC systems, cooling water, air, oil distribution, garage equipment; test lab cleanliness and organization (5S and ITAR); vehicle test and demonstration areas.
·Computer skills include MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project; Equipment Control and Data Acquisition software; Maximo, JDE and Oracle based purchasing applications.
