University of Redlands

In July 2008, I graduated with an MBA from the University of Redlands with an emphasis in International Business. As part of my studies, I was able to take part in the study abroad program with an emphasis on Japan and China. The 4 month program culminated in a one week tour of Tokyo, Japan and a one-week tour of Hong Kong/Shenzhen, China. My studies enabled me to strengthen my knowledge of the Pacific-Asia region, my Japanese language skills, and better understand how business is being run today in these 2 regions of the world. As such we were able to tour companies and plants from such companies as Toyota and Kikkoman in Japan and Walmart, Pepsi and the Hong Kong International Trade Terminal in China.

While attending BYU I also worked part-time in the University Communications department, the main communications hub of the university, where I got my first taste of PR and Marketing creating press clipping books for the president of the university. I subsequently worked as a reporter for the school's newspaper and was part of one of one of the first integrated newsrooms in the country, where I not only reported the story for the school paper, but also wrote for the web and for TV broadcasts.

As part of my additional studies I also have a minor in Japanese and participated in the study abroad program where I was able to work in Tokyo, Japan for a global Japanese company.
