I look forward to using the skills that I have developed through my education and practicum experience to serve my community and society at large. I will continue to seek new avenues and opportunities to advance my knowledge about the field of social work. Communities In Schools

Work with elementary age students to encourage social and developmental progress that will enable them to stay in school and to be productive members of their community. Organize and facilitate groups with students ages 8 to 11. Encourage parent involvement by going on regular home visits. Help provide services and resources to children and their families through a number of community outreach programs including: Food-4-Kids through the Kansas Food Bank, Holiday Assistance through Eastminster Church, Operation School Bell through the Assistance League of Wichita, Grace Med, Higher Ground, YMCA Women’s Crisis Center, Sisters of St. Joseph, and Mental Health Association of Kansas . Work with Kansas Children’s Service League to develop a group for children who had experienced domestic violence.Develop and practice a variety of documentation skills necessary for the application of grants as well as for administration purposes.

Conducted research and became educated on multiple social welfare programs.Explored theories of developmental and cognitive stages that helped provide a knowledge base for the person and how they develop in society.
