This year I have been focusing on looking at data with teachers during coaching. I have also been working with our new teachers - focusing on guided reading, math groups, and classroom management. I continue to work alongside my principal in leading our school, teachers, staff, students and parents toward a successful outcome.
I was the director for 2 summers. My responsibilities included hiring teachers, and learning assistants. Developing the curriculum to be used, providing staff development, looking at data, working with parents, and working with the community to help students succeed in reading.
Working with teachers to help them grow professionally- assisting with lesson planning, looking at their data, classroom management, and guiding teachers to use technology in their teaching.. Creating/assisting with professional development for teachers - using Kahoot and Smartboards in the classroom, creating and sending out school bulletins weekly, leading morning meetings, and school committees. Assisting with discipline when principal is out of the building. Developed a survey to find parent interests and working with the community to provide for our parents' needs. Many years of experience working with low socio-economic families.
Traveled to five different sites in Richmond to meet in small groups with students to provide direct instruction on phonics skills, reading and comprehension activities.
Coaching teachers to enhance their teaching and to help them grow professionally. Creating schedules to meet with teachers, assisting and leading professional development for teachers, created a school data wall, creating RTI (Response to Intervention) document in EXCEL and setting up meetings with our RTI team to meet with teachers. Leading school committees, assisting with walk-throughs, created a school data folder.Presented professional development based on data and teacher/school needs .
Visiting sites in Richmond, lesson planning, and giving direct instruction in reading skills to third grade students.
Began my elementary teaching career teaching fourth grade for several years, then to teaching Kindergarten for eight years, and third grade for two years. Responsibilities included lesson planning, tracking student data, and standards focused.

I have a Bachelor's of Science in Education with an Early Childhood Endorsement.
