Professional Experience

JLP Strategy

Apr 2016Present

Founder / Principal

Through my independent executive coaching practice, I provide strategic and ethical support to impact-driven professionals and organizations. Cases include: negotiation support, strategic planning for small businesses, executive prioritization, board/executive decision support, executive team-building, and career transition to impact-driven work.

Chaplain Intern

As chaplain intern, I received training and worked independently with patients and families, across diverse demographics and religions — including orthodox believers, atheists, and many shades in between. In addition to patient diversity, I have encountered a range of medical diagnoses and crises. I have experience covering the entire hospital as sole on-call chaplain during both day and evening shifts.

Adjunct Professor

Taught undergraduate philosophy course, "Organizational Ethics in Healthcare."

Chief Strategy Officer

Marketing agency for non-profit organizations. Led company and department-level planning, stewarded mission and culture, and provided both quantitative and qualitative decision support to the president and senior staff. Executed special projects in support of strategic priorities.  Oversaw company infrastructure, including controllership, financial reporting, IT, and general administration.

Continued Avalon responsibilities as a freelancer while pursuing Ph.D. Responsibilities evolved from database development and maintenance to management consulting and participation on executive team. My work in this capacity led to my rehire as Chief Strategy Officer in 2012.

Various Positions

Advanced from Assistant Program Manager to Director of Strategic Development. Key accomplishment: built Merlin by Avalon, a custom fundraising reporting database that serves all Avalon clients and remains mission-critical for Avalon's entire fundraising staff.
