Jeffrey Wimsatt

Veterinarian Dr. Jeffrey Wimsatt serves West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia, as professor in its School of Medicine and as director of its Office of Lab Animal Resources. In these positions, he manages animal welfare issues related to the animals under care of West Virginia University. Additionally, Dr. Jeffrey Wimsatt conducts original research that has been published in such outlets as the American Journal of Primatology, the Journal of Wildlife Diseases, and many others.

A scholar active in his broader professional world, Dr. Jeffrey Wimsatt belongs to the American Veterinary Medical Association as well as the American Association of Zoo Veterinarians. His background in animal care includes a period as chief of zoo and wildlife medicine services with the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in Fort Collins, Colorado.
