Profit and loss responsibility for services, sales and rental of equipment. Overall responsibility for operations and sales management for Upstate New York and Northern Central Pennsylvania territory.

  • Designed and constructed a new type of portable pH adjustment system using CO2 for high pH water, thus allowing company to service a new market segment.  The result was an increase in revenue of 7% during first quarter of implementation.
  • Achieved goal of zero safety incidents, zero vehicles accidents and zero DOT violations during first year after returning to position.
  • Implemented Net Promoter Score as a pilot program to measure and improve Customer Centricity.  During the pilot test with 10 other locations, the Branch tied for having the highest scores with an average of 9.1 out of 10 in total customer satisfaction.
  • Rolled out and locally managed RainMaker solution-based selling process resulting in the expansion of our new customer base by 8% during first 6 months of implementation.  
  • Refocused sales and operations efforts on implementing and complying with company standard operating procedures and best practices.  The result was an internal audit score of 3.8 out of 4, an increase of 74% from prior year.

Senior level manager for the East region with full profit and loss responsibility for offices in Rochester, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Toronto and Atlanta.  Led a 25 person team consisting of Sales, Operations, Customer Service, and Technical Support, to deliver profitable top-line growth and a superior customer experience. 

  • Part of corporate-wide team that was tasked with restructuring operations and refocusing sales efforts in order to make the company attractive for sale to third party.  Efforts resulted in the sale of Ashtead Technology to Pine Environmental Services in April 2013. 
  • Renegotiated leases on three properties which included upgrades to each facility along with decreases in monthly rental expenses.
  • Established company’s eBay account as a mechanism to sell obsolete or under-utilized rental assets.  First full month sales exceeded $18,000 in net profit.
  • Successfully recertified ISO 9001 designation after undergoing external audit at three locations.
  • Responsible for ensuring the roll out of a new ERP system (AX Dynamics) in the Region, which was completed on schedule and with minimal disruption of day-to-day operations and sales activities.
  • Reduced overall fleet size by 10% through the sale of underperforming and under-utilized assets resulting in an 8% increase in overall ROI.

Profit and loss responsibility for a rental fleet of pumps, tanks, pipe and filtration equipment used to manage liquids, water and waste water, serving twelve major channel market segments.  Managed staff of 24 individuals, in two separate locations, with an annualized rental and sales budget in excess of $5 million.  Accountable for the return on investment for rental assets valued at $8 million.

  • Restructured sales and operations staff resulting in improved utilization of assets, better customer service and increased reliability of equipment provided to customers.
  • Expanded satellite facility and operations in Amsterdam, NY resulting in improved customer service and lower operating costs.
  • Developed sales and marketing plans designed to diversify customer base and create opportunities for sales staff to more effectively target prospective new customers.
  • Changed safety, compliance and communication culture of Branch employees resulting in improved morale and employee-management relationship.

Waste Management

District Manager of the second largest environmental management complex in the state of New York.  Accountable for the overall operation and management of a 3,500 ton per day environmental management complex and a 3.2 megawatt gas to electricity power plant, with a total revenue-based profit and loss responsibility in excess of $40 million.  Developed and oversaw annual capital expenditure budget of over $6 million. Managed a diverse staff of 25 individuals.   Directed all multidiscipline activities associated within the 900 acre complex. 

  • Conceptualized, managed and received the local and state permit approvals for a 160 acre expansion in the towns of Perinton and Macedon. The revenue associated with the expansion is projected to be $1.4 billion.
  • Increased revenue by 92 % while increasing EBIT by 29.5% during tenure at the facility.
  • Successfully negotiated labor agreements with local Union resulting in the elimination of Union subcontracting clauses and implementation of employee health care contributions.
  • Led the development of a six megawatt gas to electricity expansion resulting in the doubling of revenue associated with this line of business. 
  • Achieved on-line time for power production better than 97.5 % for nine consecutive years. 
  • Conceived and executed activities that resulted in receiving the necessary state and local permits for a 54 acre expansion over an 18 month period.  This resulted in an increase of 7.4 years in site life and an additional $192 million in revenue.
