A life member of the Massachusetts Psychological Association, Jeffrey Jampel, PhD, conducts a private psychotherapy practice in the Boston suburb of Brookline, Massachusetts. He currently treats a diverse client base of individuals and families. Dr. Jeffrey Jampel laid the groundwork for his career as a student of sociology and anthropology at Queens College, a college of the City University of New York located in the Kew Gardens Hills neighborhood of Flushing. After earning his bachelor’s degree from Queens College, he relocated to Massachusetts to pursue his doctorate in psychology at Boston University. Concentrating his studies in clinical, community and counseling psychology, he was awarded his PhD in 1972.
In addition to his work as a psychologist, Jeffrey Jampel, PhD, co-produced with Rosalie Gerut a commercial compact disc that contains many traditional lullabies in the Hebrew, Yiddish, Ladino. Some number of them were collected and transcribed in the late 19th century and early 20th century by those interested in folksongs while others of even earlier origin. The CD, titled Sleep My Child, features performances by some of the finest musicians in the city of Boston.
