Responsible for the construction, maintenance, and repair of all outside telephone plant from the Central Office to the customer. This includes setting poles, placing cable, copper and fiber splicing, testing and terminating fiber and copper cables, reading prints, and grooming cable pairs for circuit installation.

Assisted with the rollout of V.D.S.L. technology, initially with residential customers and later with business-class service. Updated residences with fiber-to-the-curb infrastructure and performed whole-location Ethernet installation for IP television, broadband access, and V.O.I.P. telephone services. Performed maintenance and repair on AT&T’s V.D.S.L. network, which involved working on initial launch issues. Updated installation and maintenance processes by working with local managers and technicians.

Responsibilities included the installation, maintenance, and repair of voice subscriber loops from the central office to the residence. Day-to-day functions involved hanging drop lines, installing network interface devices, installing jacks, and using various test sets such as Tempo’s SideKick and early models of Dynatel’s 965 to test and troubleshoot copper pairs for faults.
