Manage staff of seven developers and two business analysts responsible for supporting all aspects of Gottschalks’ enterprise resource planning (ERP), Merchandising, and Business Intelligence systems. Responsible for all ongoing maintenance, systems development, and project implementation for corporate office, distribution center, and 60 stores with 5000+ employees and annual sales revenue in excess of $600 million.  Manage multi-million dollar department budget, vendor engagements and contracts, internal service level agreements, and regulatory compliance.

Key Accomplishments

  • Application Platform Migration:  Successfully managed the migration of 20+ business critical applications and databases from HP-UX to IBM AIX platform.  Managed team of 22 developers, analysts, and functional testers, as well as multiple vendor engagements.  Project was completed ahead of schedule, under budget, and with complete transparancy to the business.
  • Company-wide Change Management Solutions:  Managed the analysis and development of company-wide solutions for source code auditing to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) legislation and internal service level agreements.
  • Chain-wide Intranet Implmentation:  Successfully developed and implemented comprehensive intranet collaboration portal across the enterprise using Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) 3.0.  Deployment was successfully completed within one week across 60+ disparate locations throughout the western United States, benefitting more than 5,000 users.

Manage all business intelligence initiatives for Gottschalks including data warehousing, enterprise reporting, and real-time analytics.Managed development staff of 4 -5 in developing all analytical solutions required by the business for driving key decision-making activities.

Key Accomplishments

  • JDA Enterprise Resource Planning Implementation:  Managed numerous aspects of Gottschalks' ERP merchandising system implementation.  Directed the development of interfaces and application development in the areas of real-time inventory assessment, purchase order management, pricing, and sales history.
  • Data Warehouse Implementation:  Analytical and technical management lead for company-wide data warehouse implementation.  System used by 800 users across the enterprise in order to make timely and accurate business decisions.
  •  Real-time Sales Tracking:  At the direction of the CEO and Board of Directors, developed and implemented leading-edge sales tracking analytical tools, served of the company intranet via SQL Server Reporting Services.  System tracks annual sales of $650 million.

Served in numerous MIS roles while with Priority Health Services / Navmed. 

Key Accomplishments

  • Helpdesk Implementation:  Analyzed, designed, and implemented the first formal service desk at Priority Health Services.  Worked with managment, customers, and vendors to design all needed elements in an effort to meet specified service level agreements.
  • Data Warehouse Implementation:  Designed, developed, and supported 160 Gb Oracle-based pharmaceutical data warehouse.  Warehouse enabled company financial analysts to recoup more than $1 million in overpaid pharmaceutical claims.
