As a student of economics at University of Maryland, College Park, Jay Gulati earned admittance to the Golden Key International Honor Society. After graduating with his bachelor of arts, he began his career in financial services and wealth management, ultimately serving 18 years as senior vice president of investments in the Bethesda, Maryland, offices of Smith Barney. There, Jay Gulati earned recognition as a top 1-percent producer and garnered multiple customer service and outstanding management awards.
Since 2009, Jay Gulati has owned and operated the boutique commercial-lending and property development firm WestEnd Development, located in Potomac, Maryland. In his leadership role, he guides the firm in handling all aspects of real estate development, including project investment, architectural feasibility study, zoning analysis, loan underwriting, and risk analysis. Under Mr. Gulati’s direction, the firm has developed properties throughout Washington, DC, and raised funds to support DC Children's Hospital and other nonprofits.
