About Me

Jason Yeh is an early-stage technology company investor based in Berlin, Germany, where he invests via the investment entity he founded called Leaf Ventures.

Previously, Jason worked at LA-based video game company Riot Games for over 8 years, serving most recently as the Head of Esports and Managing Director for Riot's Berlin office, and previously as Head of International Publishingat  Riot's Los Angeles HQ.

Prior to joining Riot Games, Jason worked as a venture capital investor at FirstMark Capital, a $2bn venture capital firm based in New York City. He primarily focused on making investments in the digital media and consumer internet space, and supported investments in online gaming companies Riot Games and Lumos Labs.

Jason completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was part of the Huntsman Program in International Studies and Business dual-degree program with Wharton concentrations in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management.

Nov 2013 - Oct 2017: Head of EU Esports 

  • Establish and serve as Managing Director of Riot Games' German entity Riot Games Services GmbH
  • Oversee Riot Games' European Esports operations, responsible for building and managing the team, owning and driving strategic direction, and collaborating and supporting other Riot teams and leadership in the European region
  • Serve as the Product Owner for the EU LCS professional League of Legends league, managing an investment into Esports operations of over €50mm over a 4 year span


Jul 2010 - Oct 2013: Head of International Publishing

  • Support the launch of League of Legends in international markets, with a strong focus on expansion into China, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, Brazil, Turkey and Russia
  • Manage Riot's external publishing partnerships with Tencent (China) and Garena (Taiwan & Southeast Asia)
  • Hire and manage LA-based team responsible for serving as the primary connection and support between Riot's regional publishing offices and RIot's Central publishing team based in LA
  • Support the setup of the Central-Local decentralized publishing model which is critical to the launch and operation of League of Legends worldswide.
  • Evaluate opportunities to launch League of Legends into new markets, with a focus on the Japanese and Indian markets

Jul 2009 - Jun 2010: Product Marketing Manager

  • Support the creation and execution of the initial launch plan for League of Legends in the North American and European markets
  • Manage Riot's European publishing partnership with GOA/France Telecom
  • Manage Riot's China publishing partnership with Tencent and supporting planning for the initial League of Legends launch in China
  • Own and operate Riot's online customer acquisition campaigns through channels such as Google AdWords, Facebook and performance ad networks
  • Serve as key team member on Riot's monetization team, to inform and determine decisions made relating to virtual goods pricing and promotions and overall business model approach
