Jason Juberg most recently served as the owner and President of a company that provided financial investment products and advice to investors. Based in Portage, Michigan, the company also offered insurance, annuities, and other financial services to its clients. An alumnus of Western Michigan University, Jason Juberg majored in business and marketing in college. After graduating in 1995, he immediately began working in the insurance and investment industry. As an avid kiteboarder, Jason Juberg travels globally searching for the perfect wind. His most recent destination was the Mayan Riviera in Mexico. With pristine waters and steady ocean breezes, the Mayan Riviera is ideal for kiteboarding. Mr. Juberg has kiteboarded in a number of regions in North America and Central America. He names Costa Rica as a favorite spot for the sport because of its consistent winds even during the winter months, as well as warm temperatures year round.Bahia Salinas, located in Costa Rica, is also a favorite location for Jason Juberg to ride because the waves there are typically only 2 to 3 feet, even though the wind speed averages 25 to 30 knots each day. Kiteboarding has become popular in this area, and it is considered an ideal location for the sport. While there, Mr. Juberg stays at the Blue Dream Hotel due to its exceptional value and incredible restaurant. Throughout Costa Rica, visitors will find great local restaurants and beautiful accommodations.Mr. Juberg became fond of kiteboarding in 2004 while sitting on a beach in Grand Haven, Michigan, watching several people as they jumped 20 feet in the air and then rode down 10-foot waves. The sight was thrilling and memorable and caused him to become instantly hooked. At the time, the sport was relatively new. What Mr. Juberg did not realize was that kiteboarding is much more difficult than it looks. After some research, he found a local shop called Mackinaw Kites & Toys, where Jason Juberg was able to receive one kiteboarding lesson. He also purchased two kites, a harness, and a board. With little experience in kiteboarding, Jason Juberg bought a 2004 Cabrinha Contra 19.5m and a 2005 Cabrinha Element 14m. He also purchased a Dakine harness and a Naish Haze kiteboard. Since then, he has continued to upgrade his equipment and has taken other lessons in order to gain experience. He is constantly in search of the perfect wind for kiteboarding.
