Panasonic Canada Inc

Took over all aspects of restructured director's position. Expanded duties included:

  • Led all aspects of in-store retail communications activities for Panasonic, including product marketing, training, and product launches for all areas of the consumer products division. Developed account management relationships with national and independent retail buyers and directors.
  • Responsible for annual and monthly budgetary planning and analysis for best of breed cost control of a $1.5 million budget. Fiscal responsibility controlled total group expenses for 9 years to achieve or come in under budget each year.
  • Project management for various marketing initiatives across Canada, including programs such as Tim Horton's Roll Up The Rim for maximum marketing exposure. Developed and implemented third party brand ambassador programs for national retailer visits, coming in under budget for each of the four programs we ran.
  • Led all store-initiated customer service resolution for both retailer and consumer issues.
  • Trained in internal process improvement (lean/Kaizen approach)


Panasonic Canada Inc
  • Designed, rolled out, managed and created digital marketing activities of the Panasonic e-learning and loyalty program website for 6000 users. Implemented social media utilization via online forum and email marketing. Developed micro-site training modules for best of breed adult learning and training. Designed backend customer relationship management (CRM) platform. Training credited with helping meet annual sales goals for TV and Imaging divisions.
  • Created the process flow behind the industry leading Panasonic Rewards program, to fully automate the collection of eligible invoices and rewards fulfillment for over $350,000 worth of product rewards. Saved over $230K in payroll annually by redesigning Rewards loyalty website process flow.
  • Led development and management of national training programs (both mass merchant retailer and Panasonic driven initiatives), successfully launching new products into the marketplace, including television, audio, imaging, communications, health care and major appliances. Trained over 4000 associates in classroom settings each year.
  • Managed 11 Panasonic marketing associates (responsible for retailers nationwide). 5 associates developed and promoted internally. Managed recruitment, on-boarding, & training.
  • Responsible for store visits (training, merchandising, business intelligence) across Canada for all national and local retailers (600+ stores)


Sears Canada Inc
  • Responsible for the P&L, strategy and tactics of the merchandise lineup for a $24 million, 500+ SKU business, including private label and Martha Stewart products for Christmas, Halloween, Back to School, Father's and Mother's Day, Valentine's Day. Planned and bought five complete product lineups in one calendar year.
  • Created a private label confectionery/candy business, including product development, packaging, pricing, marketing, merchandising and promotion. Also headed up the buying for the catalogue based healthcare product lineup.
  • Led inventory management & forecasting for both PSI and GP. Laser focus on seasonal business ensured GPROI plans were met in a quick inventory turn category and sales plan exceeded.
  • Negotiated product lineups and partnership agreements with both domestic and overseas import suppliers. Private brand development with European, Asian and South American suppliers.


Sears Canada Inc
  • Created meaningful and relevant advertising program in both print and electronic media. Worked with agency to achieve desired results.
  • Planned yearly sales and gross profit matrix for each sales channel of a $250 million business. Worked with Buyers to develop advertising strategies and tactics to maximize business growth.
  • Guided the strategy and development of the in-store merchandising.
  • Conceived and developed the training for retail associates (national training tour).
  • Initiated manufacturer/source contact for training, fixturing, and promotional activities.


Sears Canada Inc
  • Analyzed the SKU/brand business histories on an ongoing basis, to help determine future supplier partner agreements and merchandise line strategies with Buyers for a $1 billion business.
  • Created floor plans, fixturing, shop adjacencies, and in-store merchandising for new and existing Sears stores across Canada. Onsite to manager new store openings across Canada, including the eatons chain rollout.
  • Co-ordinated and planned national training of retail associates with product manufacturers for retail, home, & dealer stores.


Sears Canada Inc
  • Bramalea: responsible for $5. 5 million in net sales, with a staff of 30 associates.
  • Hamilton: Business category responsible for $9. 6 million in net sales, staff of 45 associates.
