Jason Bouvier brings a passion for physical education and sports coaching to his work as a professional educator for the State of Connecticut. Most recently, Jason Bouvier employed his many talents as the physical education teacher of Woodside Intermediate School in Cromwell, Connecticut. In his work, Jason Bouvier maintained responsibility for developing and implementing physical fitness lesson plans for students in the third, fourth, and fifth grades. Jason Bouvier also managed the “Miracle-Gro” program, an effort to demonstrate the link between physical health and improved math and reading scores. Before joining the faculty of Woodside Intermediate School, Jason Bouvier gained invaluable classroom experience as an Assistant Teacher for the Northwest Village School - Wheeler Clinic in Plainville, Connecticut. While at the Northwest Village School, Jason Bouvier focused on creating specialized lesson plans for learning disabled and troubled students ranging in age from 13 to 16. To help manage the special needs presented by learning disabled students, Jason Bouvier frequently attended behavior management workshops. A graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, Jason Bouvier received his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Education. While earning his degree, Jason Bouvier completed his student teaching requirements at Highland Elementary School in Cheshire, Connecticut. Jason Bouvier also student taught at Hamden High School in Hamden, Connecticut, and completed additional fieldwork at St. Martin de Porres Academy in New Haven, Connecticut. As part of his certification to teach in the State of Connecticut, Jason Bouvier earned Red Cross certification in Standard First Aid. Jason Bouvier also maintains certification in Adult, Child, and Infant CPR. In addition to being a teacher, Jason Bouvier also maintains considerable experience as a youth sports coach. Jason Bouvier began coaching in 2004 as a Camp Counselor for the Giamatti Little League Baseball Camp. Jason Bouvier continued youth baseball coaching through the Bristol Park and Recreation Scott League in 2005. While in college, Jason Bouvier served as an Assistant Coach for the Bristol Eastern High School Freshman Football Team. As an assistant coach, Jason Bouvier was in charge of the team’s defense.
