Rhode Island School of Design

R.I.S.D. is one of the worlds leading  art and design Universities. I completed my industrial design degree in the top 5% G.P.A. of my graduating class. 

Summary

BIOGRAPHY

I started my career at a family business that designed, manufactured and sold industrial machinery and industrial process solutions. 

Shortly after graduating from design university, I pursued a career spanning 20 years in the fashion accessories business working with the Owner and President of an international luxury goods brand in the top 60 worldwide fashion brands. 

In March of 2011, I founded Utility Movement where I consulted creatively driven businesses in early growth phase. After advising several companies, I joined full time at VisCo, AS Norway, where I helped commercialize a digital visualization technology and a visualization management methodology.  This was followed by my current position in marketing and sales for all products and services delivered to Oil and Gas, Maritime, Defence and Urban Architecture markets. VisCo is the largest provider of visualization to the industrial domain in Scandinavia. 

I am married to the Norwegian painter Torild Stray and offer advice on many aspects of her international career.  We live in Bergen Norway with our daughter Helena. I am an avid sailor, owning and maintaining a class 1 sailboat.

Sales & Marketing and business developerment

VISCO AS, Norway
  • Worked directly with the president and CEO to develop marketing strategy through the commercialization phase of a digital twin solution followed by initial sales phase. 
  • Co-developed and implemented a new company wide  marketing  strategy "visualization managment". 
  • Launched business division "Digital Showroom"
  • Am currently responsable for sales across the whole portfolio of products in Scandinavia and Europe. Entire sales process from initial contact to tendering, closing sales and debrief. 

Other duties have included

  • Commercial management and contract review for key accounts
  • Monthly e-mail marketing campaigns to 1200 recipients
  • Build and manage my own contact lists and sales and marketing activity within CRM (650 plus linked in). 
  • Sell all products and services at a strategic level including phone campaigns, marketing campaigns, international trade fairs, major company events and direct sales meetings with individuals and groups.

  • Headed a licensed business that designed, presented and sold branded accessory products on QVC live television to several million viewers.
  • Duties included the full product value chain from design and contract manufacturing to live television sales and marketing.
