B.F.A. Industrial Design

Rhode Island School of Design

R.I.S.D. is one of the worlds leading  art and design Universities. I completed my industrial design degree in the top 5% G.P.A. of my graduating class.  R.I.S.D. was very influential in the development of my creative approach to problem solving in design and business development.

Sailing, biking, skiing and hiking with my family. In my youth, I competed in several adrenaline motor sports, but have come to prefer wind powered competition and non-competitive family based outdoor activities.

I currently work full time for VISCO AS, Norway. VISCO is the largest provider of industrial visualization products and services to asset driven businesses in Scandinavia. My work at VISCO has been focused on the commercialization of cutting edge of 3D visualization software technology, business strategy and development (reaching new market segments) as well as sales and marketing for all of VISCO's products and services internationally.

Born into an industrious family of entrepreneurs, I started my career at the H.F. Hanscom Co, a family business where my grandfather and father invented and manufactured products and machinery for the cable and tie industry. Work there exposed me to hands on mechanical engineering, industrial process and light manufacturing as well as the hard work it takes to run a successful business.

Shortly after graduating from university, I moved to New York City to pursue a career in the fashion accessories business. What followed was nearly two decades of employment and daily work with the Owner and President of the international accessories brand Barry Kieselstein-Cord.

In March of 2011, I left Kieselstein-Cord to pursue interests as a consultant to creatively driven businesses in early growth phase. After advising several companies, i was offered full time employment with VisCo, AS Norway, where I now drive market exposure and sales for all products and services delivered to Oil and Gas, Maritime, Defence and Urban architecture businesses.

I am married to the Norwegian painter, Torild Stray. In addition to being a supportive husband, I advise Torild on many aspects of her international career.  We live in Bergen Norway with our daughter Helena. I am an avid sailor, owning and maintaining a class 1 saliboat.
