Success Snapshots

I        Leveraged relationship skills to place product in major Hollywood film

Client: small, virtually unknown consumer electronics company

An important new product was nearing completion of its development and refinement cycle. Bridged an existing relationship with a major studio’s licensing executive to the director of an upcoming action-adventure film based on a popular series of espionage novels. Successfully negotiated placement of new product as a key tool to be used by the principal character, including commitment to star’s appearance in product promotion.

II        Expanded creative envelope with campaign that shattered expectations

Client: provider of online tools for bank financial management and decision-making

Concepted and managed development of a comprehensive multimedia mail campaign that expanded

marketing agency’s creative envelope and delivered ROI far beyond expectations. After first selling the high-risk, high-investment, high-potential project to client, provided 360-degree management of complex project — learning on the fly, providing superior project and fiscal control, team leadership and motivation, exceptional direction of agency and vendor resources.

III       Applied creative, effective resource management

            Client: federal government agency

As program manager, envisioned, planned and implemented innovative mentoring program that engaged local and state constituents in multi-layered support network that enabled participants to leverage resources among themselves and with recognized experts, reducing dependence on federal support. By planning multiple impacts from program elements and events, leveraged resources to enable the one-year-funded program to remain active and effective for three years.

IV       Gained high-profile media coverage at no cost

Client: small, virtually unknown consumer electronics company

By careful planning and precise crafting of news releases, media announcements and targeted pitches and lacking any resources for high-profile media campaigns, earned significant ongoing company and product coverage via Reuters wire service, CNN, major metro newspapers and numerous other news outlets. Thoughtful, targeted pitching brought product endorsement in Bon Appetit magazine’s annual “Search for the Best” recognition issue.

V         Implemented successful business development model

As proprietor of successful independent consulting business, built and grew successful 15-year business through assertive sales development, dedicated contact management, entrepreneurial risk-taking, consistently superior results, and creation of productive strategic partnerships.

Objective

I am looking for an opportunity to lead the internal and external communications efforts of an organization, strengthening reputation, loyalty and growth by leveraging my extensive experience managing marketing, public relations and other communications programs that are focused on specific goals and achieve measurable results. I’ve been highly successful in a variety of business sectors, government agencies and nonprofit organizations.

What I'm All About — Brand Me

Accomplished communications/marketing/PR manager looking for the next great career opportunity driving communications to create organizational success. Recently relocated to Florida's Gulf Coast area for family reasons. My experience has clearly demonstrated to me that communication — if strategically based and consistently internalized deep within and broadly across the organization — can drive the success and growth of any organization of any kind. In its simplest terms, this means if you truly ARE what you SAY you are, both internally and externally, you will succeed. It sounds simplistic but, in fact, is shockingly uncommon. It also means permeating functional and artificial internal boundaries to ensure that the singular identity and message of the organization is never burdened by turf protection or weakened by counterproductive competition. That concept forms the core of my philosophy, and holds particular relevance in this period when virtually all organizations are facing difficult decisions about mission and priorities that affect every internal and external stakeholder.
