Dr. Jan Fruiterman, Gynecology, Ob/Gyn, Private Pilot
As an independent contractor at J. P. Fruiterman, M.D. & Assoc., P.C., in Virginia, Dr. Jan Fruiterman provides patients with excellent care in the area of gynecology. He also served as President of his other offices in Burke and Centreville, Virginia, Drs. Fruiterman and Solos-Kountouris, P.C. Dr. Jan Fruiterman currently works at the Falls Church Healthcare Center as a Staff Gynecologist. Board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Jan Fruiterman has gained an excellent reputation over the years for being knowledgeable, professional, and diligent. He received licensure to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia in 1978. After a stint in the U.S. Navy, where he functioned in different capacities as a physician, including the position of Chief of an infertility and endocrinology clinic, Dr. Jan Fruiterman opened his private practice in 1978 and started his second office in 1983. He has enjoyed staff appointments at the Inova Fairfax Hospital; the Innova Alexandria: the Inova Fair Oaks Hospital; the Naval Regional Medical Center at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina; and the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, he is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.Dr. Jan Fruiterman attended the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia for his undergraduate work, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Natural Sciences. He subsequently gained admission to the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., where he earned his Doctor of Medicine. When he graduated medical school, Dr. Fruiterman entered into post-graduate training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he completed a rotating internship in obstetrics, gynecology, and medicine. From 1973 to 1976, he served at the hospital as a Resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology and also worked as both Assistant Instructor and Chief Resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.In 2009, Dr. Jan Fruiterman earned his private pilot’s license. His hobbies include photography and travel, and he also studies the Spanish language. Dr. Fruiterman stays in good physical shape by walking and/or running over 20 miles a week near his home in Leesburg, Virginia.
