Dr. Janet Chollet works at Waltham, Massachusetts-based Pear Tree Pharmaceuticals, Inc., as its Director of Clinical Affairs. As a co-founder of the start-up company, she was instrumental in its strategic planning and finance, and she played a major part in securing almost $3 million in venture capital funding targeted at developing and marketing new drugs to serve the special needs of women experiencing the physical changes of age. Dr. Janet Chollet continues to spearhead ongoing investigative efforts aimed at creating medical products to address symptoms associated with menopause and the ancillary effects of chemotherapy treatments. Dr. Janet Chollet graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and earned her medical degree at New York Medical College. She completed her internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, part of the Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center. She subsequently served as a Fellow in Pelvic Surgery at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, affiliated with the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Las Vegas. Dr. Chollet opened a private practice in Minot, North Dakota, where she also held a position as a staff physician and teacher with the School of Medicine & Health Sciences at the University of North Dakota. After moving to Pennsylvania, Dr. Chollet practiced in Pittsburgh and taught at St. Clair Hospital. Over her two decades as a medical professional, Dr. Janet Chollet has gained experience in many aspects of women’s health issues, including surgery of the pelvic region and endoscopy. She is also knowledgeable in the fields of product development, regulatory compliance, and the work of the pharmaceutical industry. She has published widely in medical journals and has filed several patent applications. In addition to her work with Pear Tree Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Chollet serves as an instructor at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
