Presently serving as a sleep medicine physician and Medical Director for SleepCare Diagnostics in Cincinnati, Ohio, Dr. James Murtagh oversees all operations of the clinic. He meets with each patient to analyze sleeping habits and biological measurements, which he then uses to determine the nature of the sleep disorder and plan a treatment program. Dr. James Murtagh graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Demonstrating his academic diligence, he finished his undergraduate education in two years and graduated with high honors. Shortly thereafter, Dr. James Murtagh gained admission to a six-year medical program. Since earning his medical degree, he has worked with numerous esteemed establishments, including Emory University, the National Institutes of Health, the University of Michigan, Grady Memorial Hospital, and Parkland Memorial Hospital. Recognized for his work in sleep medicine, Dr. James Murtagh has also earned a reputation for his expertise in general medicine and bioethics. He has published over 40 articles and contributed to a number of books. A prolific writer, Dr. James Murtagh wrote two bills for the Georgia State Senate addressing the dangers of sleep deprivation and its relationship to motor vehicle accidents. Dr. James Murtagh participates in several professional organizations in order to stay abreast of the latest developments in medicine and contribute his own research findings. A member of the American College of Chest Physicians, American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, and the American Federation for Medical Research, he also belongs to the Writers Guild of America, West.Aside from his notable career, Dr. James Murtagh enjoys spending his free time watching classic movies, reading, writing, traveling, and participating in winter sports activities.
