In order to establish a solid foundation for his 26-year career, financial services professional James Galowski garnered his Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance in 1985 from St. John’s University Peter J. Tobin College of Business, where he participated as President of the school’s Student Union Board. In 1993, Mr. Galowski enrolled at Fordham University’s Graduate School of Business Administration and earned his Master of Business Administration with a focus in finance in 1996. From 1985 until 1990, James Galowski worked with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, trading derivative and interest rate cash products. Mr. Galowski subsequently joined WestLB AG, fulfilling a number of roles. In addition to acting as Treasurer for the Thomas Cook Group and conducting a European treasury reorganization for WestLB in London, England, he served as Managing Director of the company and sat on the Executive Committee and Board for WestLB Asset Management (US) LLC. James Galowski then operated as Regional Treasurer for Asia, working throughout China, Japan, and Australia. In 2006, James Galowski assumed the roles of Partner and Head of Structured Credit at Stone Tower Capital. Currently, Mr. Galowski oversees a team of operational and investment professionals, managing more than $31 billion in assets. He also operates as a senior member of the company’s funds and managed accounts investment committee and leads its investment and global advisory activities, utilizing his leadership and international relations experience. Previously, Mr. Galowski managed the liquidation of $49 billion in mortgage-related and asset-backed securities.
